Kinesio tape, what's it all about ?

Picture
You may have noticed a lot of your favourite athletes on television with brightly coloured tape sprouting from there shorts or jerseys and wondered “what is that?”. Well that is Kinesio Tape or Rock Tape. This style of taping is different to regular strapping tape in that the tape stretches so it can be more comfortable for the individual to wear.

Kinesio tape or Rock Tape is not designed to stop a body part moving (like a normal preventative ankle taping) but more to move with the skin to help promote lymphatic drainage and improve muscle function. The staff at Peak Performance have been using these tapes to help their clients for several years now and are loving the options that this tape provides.

Kinesio tape has a comprehensive array of therapeutic benefits. Because kinesio taping can usually be left on for several days or up to a week, these therapeutic benefits are available to the injured area 24 hours a day, significantly accelerating the healing process from trauma, injuries and inflammatory conditions.
